Sweet Sara so lovely, the queen of my nights,
But, I wasn’t ready to treat a girl right.
Susie was gorgeous with beautiful eyes.
But, I was still carefree, and telling her lies.
Love is elusive, or so it seems.
But, I was the one who shattered my dreams.
Bonnie could make a man feel like a king.
But, she wasn’t ready to wear my ring.
So, I went to Linda and treated her right.
But, she’s in the arms of another tonight.
Love is elusive or so it seems.
How can I live with my shattered dreams.
Oh, how can I live with my shattered dreams.
But, I’ll go on thinking, tonight is the night.
That I’ll find a lover, and, I’ll treat her right.
She’ll be my woman, the love of my life.
Life will be different with her as my wife.
